WolfKing Timberwolf (GAMING KEYBOARD)

The Timber Wolf comes packed in a simple but eye-catching design. Apparently it wasn't over thought, but it is enough to get one's attention.

The back of the box has snippets from various reviews of the product as well as lists the features in nine different languages.

Inside you will find the keyboard flanked by two pieces of foam and an owners manual. These are all that are required for this product.

The keyboard's design is steps away from the usual enhanced standard keyboard that most other manufacturer's use. Opting to place a keypad to the right of the main key-set.

The Timber Wolf"s game pad is ergonomically designed for ease of use. The pad contains 40 keys to use for game play which correspond to keys on the keyboard and require no software to operate them. They have been placed in a circular design that should allow a player to reach them without changing hand position.

The Timber Wolf also comes equipped with two USB ports that are located on the top edge between the game pad and main keyboard. Although the keyboard itself is USB 2.0, the ports on it are only USB 1.1. I personally don't care for the location of the ports on this keyboard. With limited desk space, it could be easy to damage them in the heat of a game.

Transcend Releases DDR3 Modules for Desktop PCs

Transcend today released its retail-packaged DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333 240-pin DIMMs. Compared to DDR2, it offers faster transfer speeds and better bandwidth with an 8-bit as opposed to 4-bit prefetch buffer, and is a perfect match for modern systems using dual or quad-core processors. Moreover, the operating voltage of DDR3 memory modules has been decreased from 1.8V to 1.5V, thus reducing actual memory power consumption by 20-30% compared to systems with DDR2 memory.

DDR3 memory modules incorporate all-new “Fly-by” architecture that provides more efficient direct communication between the controller and each DRAM chip. This new architecture also includes dynamic On-DIMM Termination to minimize signal reflections at higher speeds.

Transcend`s DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333 DIMMs are currently available in 1GB and 2GB capacities respectively.

Nvidia's GeForce GTS 250 graphics card

The card we have in Damage Labs for review is EVGA's GeForce GTS 250 Superclocked 1GB. Like many GeForce-based graphics cards, this puppy runs at clock speeds higher than Nvidia's baseline. In this case, we're looking at a fairly modest boost to a 771MHz core, 1890MHz shaders, and 1123MHz memory. You'll pay about ten bucks for the additional speed; list price is $159. EVGA also plans to sell a 1GB card with clocks closer to stock speeds for $149. Odds are, neither of those cards will look exactly like the one in the pictures above, which is an early sample. EVGA intends for the final product to have a swanky black PCB and an HDTV out port, which our sample conspicuously lacks.
